Just looking - VENUE CHANGE FROM PRINTED GUIDE
An exploration into collaborative and solo looking in strange times by 3 strangers.
Just Looking is an artwork in a window display and an online artwork. It consists of a mechanical image clock that plays with the onlooker’s attention to participate in the act of Just Looking. The visible mechanics both charm and beguile in their simplicity in a world accustomed to the workings hidden behind a screen and by contrast the online artwork plays with disorientation and the act of Just Looking mediated through a screen. The works utilise images taken within Deptford’s local area. It is an exploration into collaborative and solo looking in strange times. Capturing moments of noticing, that melt and mould into the passing of time. Three strangers come together over 5 months meeting and working through a screen, changing and being changed by one another.
