Deptford X 2021

This year’s 2021 festival will take the form of an outdoor Art Trail around Deptford. Festival visitors will be able to collect a map and use it to discover outdoor work situated in and around Deptford.

Deptford X 2021 was an outdoor art trail through SE8 and SE14 featuring a curated programme of performances and new work and an extensive Fringe programme of projects by local artists and residents. Our digital programme this year took the form of 7 x 30 minute audio works broadcast via AAJA radio and essays by Jamila Prowse and Mimi Chu which explored the importance of art, community and place in a post-pandemic world.

This year it was our intention to bring art and creativity out into the open to create joy and healing in our communities in the wake of the pandemic.

Fringe

These are projects that are independent in scope but brought together by Deptford X. We encouraged projects that were situated outdoors, or outdoor-facing, along the Art Trail. 2021's Fringe included a community-focus.
