Deptford X 2012

Deptford X Festival 2012 was the culmination of a year-long programme of work, with commissions from the London Borough of Lewisham.

The 2012 Festival took place at the same time as the London 2012 Olympic Games, and was led by the appointed artist-curators, Hew Locke and Indra Khanna. This year we welcomed Henna Nadeem, Dzine, Doug Jones, and The Hidden Noise to Deptford X.

In 2012 we were commissioned by the London Borough of Lewisham to produce three pieces of work: David Mach’s ‘Hell Bent’ sculpture displayed on Blackheath; students lead by Bridget Lycett-Smith who decorated Lewisham Council’s refuse trucks; and a sculpture from the Museum of Melancholy inspired by Olympic podiums, exhibited in the Creekside Cafe.
