Curiosity-driven nature discovery walks offer opportunities to create personal multi-sensory mixed-media responses to be displayed.
In the context of the climate emergency, recognition arises of our shared DNA with nature. We invite the local community to engage with nature-curiosity through multi-sensory focused walks, offering ways to de-stress and improve wellbeing.
Submit images/sketches of your local botanic discoveries to this project archive, exhibition, and outdoor screening!
Friday 16th July, Saturday 17th July, Sunday 18th July
On Friday 16 July we will invite the local community to bring their submissions to be displayed on the gallery window between 20:00-21:00, before starting the outdoor screening of video works by the artist and the project archive at 21:30
From that moment onwards, the exhibition display will be accessible from the public space (on the gallery window) at all times (24/24hours) until it is taken down by the artist on Monday 19 July 2021.
The opening event will include the submission of mixed media walk recordings by the local community, and an outdoor screening in front of hARTslane Gallery that will include video works by Margaret Jennings and a slideshow of the project archive submissions. This will be introduced by the artist in a brief opening statement. This project will also feature submissions from three independent online workshops that artist Margaret Jennings has led before the start of the Deptford X programme.
