Deptford X Residency update

Carnival Reimagined Artwork

Linett had previously collaborated separately with Safa in 2017 and Azarra 2019 on artistic projects within the Notting Hill Carnival footprint during the August bank holiday. It was the first time that all three had worked together.

Taking inspiration from the stickers which can be seen in the interior of the Disc World Record shop in Deptford Market, Safa Abbas created designs which reflected an aspect of the government Covid 19 guidance of keeping 2 metres apart and the ongoing reflections of the Black Lives Matter protests.

Azarra Amoy created posters which celebrated some of the disciplines at the Notting Hill Carnival including masquerade and sound systems.
