DX Artist Weekender 2026: Social 

Preview 2 October, Exhibition 3 & 4 October

We are excited to announce our 2026 Weekender will be during the first weekend of October, hosted by two partner venues who are exceptional art institutions in Deptford, Cockpit Deptford & Trinity Laban.  Over the 3 days we will present new work by artists who are based in or are connected to Lewisham.   The diverse artworks reflect the artists’ engagement with family, communities and society – locally and globally.  The works include painting, collage, drawing, artists film, film and sculpture installations, photography, textile and performance.  Throughout the weekend we will also be hosting family workshops, artist workshops and film screenings.

Exhibiting Artists – Khushboo, april forrest lin 林森, Ray Malone, Paula Morison, Elizabeth Oniri, Harald Smykla and Sam Wootton.

Screening Programme Artists – James Jordan Johnson, Ursula Pelczar, Dhiren Shingadia, Ray Malone, Charlotte Young in collaboration with Phoebe Rayner.

DX Artist Weekender : Screening Programme (Sunday 4 Oct 12 & 3pm)

A programme of five films made by artists in the last 3 years exploring durational performance in Brixton, the interconnectedness of technological and human behaviour, social media algorithms, communications of care over time and space, and intergenerational LGBTQ+ collective stories inspired by the Thames and its tributaries.  The works were selected by an open call from artists who are based in or have strong connections to Lewisham.
