Created especially for Deptford X’s first fully outdoor festival Sahra has created Deptford X pop-up, a space for sharing, exchange, connection and performance.
Within her practice Sahra explores shared spaces, the public realm, community engagement, meaningful contributions, and collaboration; each of these elements is at the heart of Deptford X pop-up.
Sahra Hersi graduated from the Royal College of Art Architecture programme in 2017. Her practice explores shared spaces, the public realm, collaboration and community engagement. Her work is often born out of engaging with local communities and the spaces they occupy.
Each day our volunteers and staff will be at the pop-up to tell you what’s on or discuss any of the Curated projects with you in more depth. You can also catch performances at the pop-up including a spoken word performance by Y.A. on Saturday 10 July.

The Deptford X pop-up will remain in Deptford X’s care after the Festival. In the coming months we will be looking for ways in which to activate it for future projects and Festivals. If you have an idea, please get in touch!
