zack mennell
(para)site: a discharge of cultural fluid
‘(para)site' is an installation and site-specific performance art action responding to the Thames and Deptford Foreshore.
‘(para)site’ is a continuation of zack’s research into the intersections of class, disability and ecology. This action-based work and installation responds to their memories of growing up in a working-class community along the industrialised Thames in South Essex, and their experiences as a medicalised, societally infantilised disabled & neurodivergent queer person.
Warning: Please be aware that this work contains, explores or makes references to adult content, explicit language, nudity, mental illness, suicide, childhood trauma, sexual assault, ableism, homophobia, transphobia.
Curated by Benjamin Sebastian & Joseph Morgan Schofield.
This work is generously supported by the Thames Festival Trust’s Tide Changers programme, and would be impossible without the ongoing support of VSSL Studio.
