Where the Trolleys Sleep

This project responds to a low tide walk through Deptford Creek – a place where urban debris and thriving ecology collide. Inspired by the discovery of 400 shopping trolleys, later left in place to support aquatic life, the prints explore the creek as both habitat and human imprint.

Workshop
Trolley Tracks & Tetrapaks – An Introduction to Sustainable Printmaking
Friday 24th July, 13:30–16:30
Join Julia Celeste Brunt for a hands-on printmaking workshop where everyday waste becomes a tool for creativity. Using recycled Tetrapak cartons and a humble pasta machine as a printing press, you’ll learn how to transform discarded packaging into beautiful, hand-pulled prints.
This accessible and environmentally conscious workshop introduces participants to traditional intaglio printmaking techniques, with a sustainable twist. You’ll learn how to etch into Tetrapak surfaces, ink your plate, and print your own image using a DIY tabletop press.
All materials are provided, and no prior experience is necessary. By the end of the session, each participant will leave with their own completed print — and a new way of seeing the creative potential in the everyday. All materials are provided — just wear clothes you don’t mind getting a bit inky!
