Audrey Damier
Can a Brother Get Some Peace?

Expanding on her short film Can a Brother Get Some Peace?, exploring the adultification of Black boys and the loss of innocence, Audrey will present a new series of photographic portraits featuring Black men from the borough of Lewisham and the neighbouring south London boroughs, showcasing the diversity within our community and to highlight the idea of peace—what it looks like, how it is experienced, and what it means to those who are often denied it.
The presented film and portraits hope to foster deeper conversations and contemplation about the nuanced realities of Black masculinity, identity, and vulnerability, accompanied by a series of poems challenging dominant narratives and providing a fuller representation of Black men’s lived experiences.
