Call Out For Previous Deptford X Artists, Venues, and Curators
Are you an artist, art worker, gallery or project space that has been involved in Deptford X at any point since 1998? We want to hear from you!
Deptford X is 25 years old in 2023. We are using this year to look back at 25 years of artistic practice in South East London via Deptford X. We want to celebrate all the artists we have worked with and to question what has changed in that time—what has been lost and what has been gained?
Our plan for this years’ festival is for it to become a point of departure for intergenerational conversations between artists about what routes are available to become an artist, and what it takes to sustain an artistic practice. So much has changed in the structural conditions over the last 25 years. What can we learn to take forward into the next 25 years? How can Deptford X continue to support artists and how can artists thrive?
Your work and responses will form the basis of our 25th anniversary exhibition and publication. We will follow up with all respondents who are happy to speak to us to find out more.
