Deptford X is looking for a new Chair/CoChair to work with the board of trustees and the executive team to ensure good governance and help steer and develop its vision as a leading community arts organisation.

This exciting opportunity is ideally suited to someone passionate about the arts and their wider community impact, coupled with knowledge and engagement with Deptford, an area long associated with a vibrant arts community. We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic and knowledgeable about community or contemporary arts, not-for-profit organisations and governance and keen to support a talented team to produce an ambitious annual art festival and commission new artistic projects across the borough.

Deptford X is London’s longest running contemporary visual arts festival, launched in 1998 as a free, annual, artist-led festival based in and around Deptford, South East London.

Now in its third decade, the festival has reinforced its aim to nurture the creativity on its doorstep through increasing opportunities to take part and presenting challenging and exciting art alongside some of the most creative talent living and working in the area.

The role does not require previous experience as a Chair or a Charity Trustee. You will need to be able to offer appropriate skills, experience and enthusiasm to benefit the organisation.
