MEZZANINE is pleased to present UNTETHER. A multi disciplinary group show from the residence of the studios and their contemporaries. Artists have been invited to reflect on post-digital themes in their work and explore how living in an age of digital saturation affects their practice. Do we embrace the digital? Step away from it? Walk through it?

Andy Williams presents pseudo-biological objects crafted from stained
glass and mosiac.

Rose Redpath experiments with digital imaging probing qualities of flat
screens and intangible media.

Working across film, photography, performance and writing, Lily Ashrowan
draws upon themes of memory and embodiment.

Jazbo Gross explores code, scripts an technologies within cultural
contexts.

Emilie Oblivion zooms in and out of digital distorted images and
translates them to canvas.

Fakewhale interrogate the algorithms with their writing “Visual
Capital”.

On the 13th of July, UNTETHER expands it program with a day of film shorts and live electronic performances from friends of the studio. Including an exclusive hybrid live set from second wave grime pioneer Mr. Mitch. Having produced tracks with the likes of Skepta and P Money, Mr. Mitch’s sound takes a more reflective and sentimental direction than traditional grime producers. Blending kaleidoscopic weightless synths and emotion laden beats. Additional sets include hypnotic, boundary pushing compositions from Frakktal. Sonic explorations from Suspiria using improvisatory and drone techniques . Sublime vocals from Sophie Du Ry and an incisive audio visual executions from snake case. Prior to the afternoon of music will be a series of film sorts curated by Lily Ashrowan.  East London’s finest Big Night will be on the grill through the event severing up barbecued excellence.
