Remnants of Hope

Using the dismantled offcuts of traditional flags, Remnants of Hope looks beyond the notion of conquering and ownership. A more humble flag, one that offers an invitation to a more equal footing is the most simple: the white flag. Sewn by hand over several months as part of an open workshop involving multiple age groups and nationalities.
It will hang from the Grade ll listed Lewisham Arthouse, in place of where a more traditional flag once stood
Special thanks to all those who participated in the project, to Lewisham Arthouse and to Flying Colours Flagmakers for providing the offcuts.
