37 Deptford Church St

A V1 bomb – aka a doodlebug – hit Reginald Square Deptford on the 18th June 1944. My mother and her family lived in 37 Deptford Church St which backed on to the square. They were at home and the bomb blew out all of the windows fatally injuring her stepmother. I heard this story as a child and I made 3 paintings to explore aspects of the story.
